Little Tokyo, one of only four remaining historic Japantowns in the United States, holds deep cultural significance within the Japanese American community. As pressure from outside investors and development increases, preserving family-owned businesses, cultural institutions, and spiritual centers is essential to protecting the neighborhood’s identity. The Little Tokyo Community Impact Fund (LTCIF) brings together community members, foundations, and local partners to invest in real estate that keeps ownership within the community, allowing legacy businesses to remain and ensuring Little Tokyo’s cultural integrity is preserved for generations to come.
